Tom Zenner has been called “a master of the media pivot,” a description he doesn’t argue with.
A longtime host, writer, author, and dealmaker, Tom has worn just about every hat in media the past 25 years. He started out as a frontline sports anchor at major market stations including NBC 5 in Chicago, Fox 25 in Boston, and NBC 12 and ABC 15 in Phoenix. In Chicago, he lived the golden era of the Chicago Bulls, covering Michael Jordan daily and co-hosting a weekly Sunday night show with none other than Dennis Rodman.
From there, Tom’s curiosity and drive carried him into nearly every corner of the media world. As Executive Editor of Jetset Magazine and Feature Writer for Maxim and Details, he’s profiled a who’s who of A-list stars like Tom Cruise, Daniel Craig, Jeremy Renner, Richard Branson, Al Pacino, Halle Berry and President Donald Trump, biggest names. As an author, he’s written over 40 books with more than 2 million copies sold—including NBC/Universal’s official Royal Wedding book and commemoratives celebrating Kobe Bryant’s legendary career and over 40 NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL and NCAA champions.. In 2025, he helped peel back the curtain on the infamous Varsity Blues College Recruiting Scandal, as he ghost wrote The Scandal Within the Scandal with John Wilson, an innocent parent targeted by Federal prosecutors and used as a venue hook to move all of the court proceedings from Los Angeles to Boston.
Tom hasn’t just covered stories—he’s built platforms to tell them. At Valuetainment, he helped launch the PBD Podcast and appeared in 40 of its first 100 episodes with Patrick Bet-David. At Tom Brady’s production company Shadow Lion, he orchestrated a multi-million dollar sponsorship deal with FanDuel that helped fund All-In, a Celtics docuseries that generated over 2 billion impressions and 50 million views. He’s also helmed live radio, co-hosting a weekly show on KABC in Los Angeles with Heisman Trophy winner Matt Leinart, and led LT Vision, a groundbreaking in-house media network for Life Time.
These days, Tom channels his passion for true crime and scandal into the fast-growing Tom Zenner Scandal YouTube channel, which has racked up more than 13 million views in the past year. He also co-hosts One Degree of Scandalous with Kato Kaelin, blending sharp storytelling with candid conversation on cases that have gripped the nation.
Away from the microphone, Tom is proudest of his family. His daughter Brooke was a standout soccer player at Pepperdine, his daughter Avana competes in track and field at UCLA, and his son Dash is one a future Division One golfer.
Known for his deep network and a knack for connecting dots others miss, Tom thrives where media, culture, entertainment and business intersect. But at the heart of it all, he’s still what he started out as: a storyteller with loud and informed opinions, fascinated by the people, scandals, and moments that shape how we see the world.
